The methods that will most effectively minimize the ability of intruders to compromise information security are comprehensive user training and education. Enacting policies and procedures simply won't suffice.~Kevin Mitnick (a.k.a. Condor)
Cybersecurity is a scope of studies for full-time second-cycle degree students in Computer Science, available from the summer semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. The course was created as part of the Integrated Development Programme at the Częstochowa University of Technology (called the ZPRPCZ project).
The scope in Cybersecurity was created as a result of cooperation between the Częstochowa University of Technology and IT leaders coming from the business environment.
The scope in Cybersecurity is financed under the ZPRPCz project, which makes every student of this scope a participant in the project. This can be treated as a valuable work experience, especially in terms of labour market expectations. It also has other significant advantages since a participation in the project offers: (1) access to brand new specialist lab facilities that are dedicated to this particular degree course and have been set up and equipped from the project funds, (2) an opportunity to take part in workshops and classes conducted by our external partners, (3) access to dedicated teaching materials prepared as part of the project for the needs of the classes, and last but not least (4) a possibility to do an internship outside the university with accommodation and board financed under the project. The conditions of joining the project are available in the Rules and Regulations (in Polish).
An important advantage of the Cybersecurity course, resulting from the implementation of the ZPRPCz project, is its offer which includes both workshop classes and internships.
Workshops are held at the Częstochowa University of Technology and are all conducted by external IT specialists from the IT business. Classes on the following topics are planned: backward analysis of software in exercises, digital single market - European Union policy on cybersecurity, the security of web applications in exercises and the cybersecurity system of the Republic of Poland.
Internships are available to students who want to gain hands-on work experience outside university in external entities related to the IT business. Interns who will qualify will be reimbursed for accommodation and board under the ZPRPCz project.
Cybersecurity students have a great variety of subjects to choose from for their MSC theses and the department in which the thesis will be completed. It should be agreed with the thesis supervisor who you choose to guide you during the process of its writing. You can also complete your thesis in cooperation with an external entity.
If you are a Cybersecurity student who is having trouble finding a supervisor of your master's thesis, contact the Cybersecurity scope of studies coordinator open to discuss it with you. The necessary contact details are provided further on.
